A new OS X-like GNU/Linux shows up

The Pearl Linux

When Pear OS was bought and its ISO removed from the net, fans of Apple interface had no other place to turn to. A new addition to GNU/Linux lineup will try to change that problem, the Pearl Linux.

The Pear OS was a GNU/Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and its GUI was a mix between iOS and OS X, where it used iOS for design and OS X for the functionality. When Pear OS was pulled, it left a pretty big gap leaving users without any similar model.

The Pearl Linux is a new project which will try to bring back the ergonomics of OS X environments on GNU/Linux. At the moment, it is using an XFCE desktop which will be soon joined by MATE and LXDE according to its developers.

The project is not yet at the point where Pear OS 8 was during its disappearance, but it still on a good path and will certainly satisfy the lack of Apple's icons for users who wants to stay in the free world.
