Acer has announced two new frameless monitors that will be ready for Q4 2014, the 27-inch S277HK and the 25-inch H257HU. What makes these monitors stand out of the crown is the fact that they have a rather impressive aluminum edging that gives a rather premium look as well as "almost no edge" on the sides.
The 27-inch S277HK is, according to Acer, the first 4K/UHD monitor with a frameless design. Based on 3840x2160 27-inch IPS panel, the S277HK also features DTS surround sound and an asymmetric stand that adds it a premium look. The listed connectivity includes DVI, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2.
The 25-inch H257HU cuts down resolution to WQHD 2560x1440, as well as uses a different center placed aluminum stand, but still offers the same DVI, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2 ports connectivity.
Both monitors will also feature technologies meant to eliminate flicker and reduce blue light as well as Acer's Low Dimming and ComfyView technologies.
According to Acer, both new monitors are expected to ship globally in Q4 2014 but the company has not revealed any details regarding the price.
