ASUS to cut motherboard prices by 5 to 10 percent

To put pressure on competition

According to the latest report from Taiwan, ASUS is preparing a price cut on its entire motherboard lineup in order to put some pressure on the rest of the competition.

According to a report from Digitimes.com, ASUS is preparing to cut prices in retail, anywhere between 5 to 10 percent, in order to compete with Gigabyte, ASRock and MSI. While ASUS still holds the first place in volume motherboard shipping, this move could have a massive impact on Gigabyte's sales in China, making it fall short of 5.5-6 million units goal in Q3 2014.

ASUS already managed to ship around 10.4 million motherboards in the first half of this year and aims to hit 22.1 million units target by the end of the year.
