Microsoft recently attacked Google on the Chromebook market. Today they are entering the market of TV dongles. Apple is one of the main player in this kind of market, while Google recently joined it with the Chromecast.
After acquiring Nokia, Microsoft holds a full portfolio of portable devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and hybrids like the Surface or Surface Pro. These products deserve to be used in HD on a television, and that is exactly what Microsoft is working to achieve.
This new Microsoft product has been spotted thanks to the FCC database (Federal Communications Commission) and the WiFi Alliance. As now, it is called HD-10, and it's based on Linux and Miracast to stream media contents from portable devices to a television. Thanks to its particular technologies, the dongle can only be used with Microsoft products.
We don't have any official informations yet, but Microsoft is planning a Lumia conference for 4th September, and it could be the perfect moment to unveil this new product.
