Over the past days there have been a lot of rumors and news regarding the new R9 285 from AMD and there today we have a first benchmark score from 3DMark's Fire Strike benchmark.
The AMD Radeon R9 285 graphics card has been tested on an LGA2011 platform using an Intel Core i7-4960X CPU with 16GB of 1866MHz memory. The graphics card scored P7066 in the Performance preset and X3513 under Extreme preset, which are well above the GTX 760 which has a very similar price. The GTX 760, when ran on the same platform, managed to score P5650 and X2774.
The price of the new AMD R9 285 should start from US $249 and the card will be available starting September 2.
