Microsoft might unveil Windows 9 on September 30th

Microsoft Threshold OS incoming

According to a new report, Microsoft might unveil its new Windows 9 OS, codename Threshold, as early as September 30th.

Speaking to The Verge, insider sources confirmed that Microsoft is planning its big press event for September 30th, where it should unveil the new Windows 9 OS. The same source suggested that a developer preview version should be released shortly after that date.

Earlier rumors also suggested that Microsoft might aim for late September or early October to unveil its newest OS. The new Windows 9 OS will feature integration of Cortana, Microsoft's own version of personal assistant, it will lack the Charm Bar and will mark the return of the Start Menu, with a slight redesign.

In any case, we will know for sure in just over a month time and we guess that more information will show up as we draw closer to the unveiling date.
