AMD's new FX-Series CPU is repacked FX-9590

FX-9590 CPU with Asetek liquid CPU cooler

AMD has recently teased a picture of a new FX-Series desktop CPU but according to HardwareCanucks site, this will only be a repacked FX-9590 which will be now shipped with Asetek's liquid CPU cooler.

While it was only sold as a chip-only solution, the eight-core FX-9590 will now be available bundled with Asetek's liquid CPU cooler. Based on 32nm Vishera architecture, the FX-9590 features eight Piledriver CPU cores clocked at 4.7GHz with 5.0GHz Turbo. It also packs 8MB of L2 cache and 8MB of L3 cache as well as a dual-channel memory controller with support for DDR3-1866 memory.

While it has been selling for US $319 until now, the new FX-9590 bundled with Asetek liquid CPU cooler will be sold at US $359, which is a decent offer considering you get a good liquid CPU cooler for just US $40.

AMD is definitely trying hard to push some attention from Intel's Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon CPU but we are not sure if this will be enough.
