Apple has also unveiled and announced its new iPad mini that will finally get the Retina treatment and feature 7.9-inch 2048x1536 display as well as the same A7 SoC seen in the new iPad Air and the iPhone 5S.
As noted, the new iPad mini Retina is built around a 7.9-inch 2048x1536 IPS display that adds up to 326 pixels per inch. It will also feature the same A7 SoC that is, according to Apple, four times faster than its predecessor CPU wise, while GPU part is up to eight times faster. The battery inside the new iPad mini Retina should last for around 10 hours which is in line with the older one.
While it did announced the new iPad mini, Apple will also be keeping the old iPad mini as well that has dropped down to US $299 base price for the 16GB WiFi version. The new iPad mini Retina will be available as of November, be available in Space Grey and Silver color options and start at US $399 for the 16GB WiFi only version and US $529 for the 16GB WiFi+Cellular version. It will also be available in 16, 32, 64 and 128GB storage options as the iPad Air.
Apple also announced a couple of new covers for the iPad Air and the mini including a standard one that is quite similar to the current Smart Cover as well as the leather version of it that will sell for US $79.
