Asus has launched yet another addition to it The Ultimate Force (TUF) line of motherboard, the TUF Vanguard B85. Designed for gamers and users that do not plan to overclock their CPUs, the Asus Vanguard TUF is based on Intel's B85 Express chipset and uses high-grade components that should last for a lifetime.
Asus decided to equip the new TUF Vanguard B85 with a rather simple 4-phase VRM that draws power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors. Since it is not meant for overclocking 4-phase VRM with high-quality components and heatsinks is definitely a much better option. The rest of the specs include four DDR3 DIMM slots with support for up to 32GB of dual-channel memory, two PCI-Express x16 3.0 slots (second is PCIe x4 2.0), PCI-Express x1 slot and standard PCI slot.
Storage connectivity wise, the new Asus TUF Vanguard B85 offers four SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps while the rest of the specs also include DVI, HDMI, D-Sub and DisplayPort outputs, six USB 3.0 ports (two via header) and bunch of USB 2.0 ports, 7.1-channel audio, gigabit Ethernet as well as Asus' TUF military-grade features including the Thermal Radar feature.
The new Asus TUF Vanguard B85 is expected to hit retail/e-tail pretty soon with a price of around US $110.
