AMD Kaveri to be available in 2014

AMD officially confirms it

Although it was rumored earlier, AMD has now finally confirmed that its next-generation socket FM2+ Kaveri APUs will begin shipping in Q4 2013 but will actually be available in early Q1 2014.

The desktop parts will hit retail channel in early Q1 2014 while mobile chips should be available a bit later in the same quarter, or as AMD noted, in the official comment for VR-Zone, the first half of 2014. The Kaveri APUs will be based on four Steamroller x86 CPU cores and will actually be the first AMD high-performance APU to feature a "discrete-level" GCN GPU architecture.

The Kaveri APUs will also bring major heterogeneous computing enhancements and this is something that AMD is quite proud about. Judging from earlier details, HSA implementation in Kaveri APUs sounds impressive on paper and we are quite interested to see it in action.
