According to the worldwide PC gaming hardware market report coming from Jon Peddie Research, it appears that the global PC gaming hardware sales are still doing quite good despite the general PC market decline and shift of focus to smartphones, tablets, cloud-computing and mobile devices in general.


According to the report, PC gamers and enthusiasts still continue to buy and build with a frequency that JPR compares to motorcycle, 4X4 and sports card enthusiasts with a constant drive for more speed, power, utility and handling. According to Jon Peddie, President of JPR, it is evident that gaming has now become an even more important purchasing influence of PC sales as most basic functionality has been offloaded on smart/mobile devices. He notes that JPR is forecasting growth in the most expensive discrete graphics product market while also notes that they are impressed with embedded graphics offerings this generation and going forward, most likely aiming at APUs.

The PC gaming will definitely survive as even next-generation consoles will not be able to cope with ultra high-resolution graphics and since consoles will have display restrictions and couch based control input, nothing can't compete with the PC's precision and power, according to JPR.

JPR released a table showing a slight drop in global PC gaming hardware market for the 2013 but predicts steady growth all until 2016.
