Brian Krzanich joined the company back in 1982 and practically moved up the ladder and was appointed to Intel COO position back in January last year. Intel's executives certainly respect the next CEO and describe him as the man with strong leadership and extensive understanding of the industry. Considering that Paul Otellini, current Intel CEO, is a member of the board of directors, these words are most likely well-founded.

For such a big company, Intel did not do that well recently. Although it is still far away from being bad, Intel is still lagging behind its competitors in the smartphone and tablet market and the fact that PC industry is practically on its knees, certainly does not help.
