Intel Ivy Bridge-E lineup surfaced

What we've been expecting

During June this year, Intel is going to release their upcoming Haswell performance desktop processors. Enthusiasts around the globe will wont stop looking for Intels high-performance desktop parts with codename Ivy Bridge-E. Meanwhile new information made it to the surface.


Apparently it looks like the new lineup will be quite similar the old one. The cheapest part will be a quadcore, that costs between 300 and 400 US-Dollar. Furthermore there will again be a hexacore CPU that's available for 500 to 600 US-Dollar. For as much as 1'000 US-Dollar you'll get the extreme edition model, which also features six cores. All the CPUs will be compatible to Intels socket LGA2011 and they will also work on X79 motherboards. The only thing needed to make X79 boards support these HEDT parts is a BIOS update.


All upcoming Ivy Bridge-E processors will feature a memory interface, that natively supports DDR3-1866 MHz. The quadcore CPU should listen to the namen Core i7-4820 and it boasts 3.70 GHz standard and 3.90 GHz turbo clock. Furthermore there will be a total of ten Megabyte of shared L3 cache. The Core i7-4930K will be the cheaper hexacore CPU, which support 3.40 GHz standard clock and 3.90 GHz boost clock. The upcoming Extreme Edition CPU will have the name Core i7-4960X and it will come with a standard clock speed of 3.60 GHz and the Turbo will clock it to 4.00 GHz. Regarding the shared L3 chach, you'll find 15 Megabyte with this part. All these three CPUs are expected to be launched during the third quarter 2013 and they'll all feature a TDP of 130 Watt.
