Corsair'a new Force LS SSD series detailed

Phison controller and Toshiba MLC NAND

VR-Zone managed to get some details for the upcoming new line of solid state drives from Corsair, the Force LS series. Based on a Phison controller and paired up with Toshiba MLC NAND, the new Force LS will be available in capacities of up to 240GB and provide some decent sequential transfer speeds.

While its high-end lineup, including Force 3, Force GT and Force GS, are equipped with LSI's Sandforce SF-2200 controller, the Force LS will feature Phison SATA 6Gbps interface controller and should cover entry- to mid-range level market. Although not detailed precisely, the Phison controller will be paired up with Toshiba NAND MLC flash memory chips, most likely 19nm ones.

According to Corsair, the new Force LS series will provide sold performance at great value. To be available in 60, 120 and 240GB capacities, the new Force LS series will have sequential read and write speed of up to 555MB/s and 535MB/s. It uses 7mm 2.5-inch form-factor and comes with TRIM, RAID Background Garbage Collection (BGC) support, SMART functions and will be backed by a 3-year warranty.

The new Corsair Force LS series will be priced at US $69.99 for the 60GB version, US $109.99 for the 120GB one and US $199.99 for the 240GB version.
