Antec releases new performance PSUs

High Current Gamer M series

Antec has announced the global availability of additional models that will be a part of its extreme performance power supply "High Current Gamer M" (HCG M) series, the 750W HCG-750M and the 850W HDG-850M. Based on a dual-rail design with CircuitShield IC and 80 PLUS Bronze certification, the new models also bring some new features while retaining the perfect combination of power and efficiency, according to Antec.

While lower wattage members of the High Current Gamer M series were quite limited with features, the new models will feature hybrid modular design as well as new patented 16-pin sockets that support two different 8-pins connectors as well as future 10, 12, 14 or 16-pin ones. Based on what appears to be a Seasonic design, the new HCG M 750W and 850W models offer 40Amps on each of the +12V rails and are 80 PLUS Bronze certified with up to 88 percent efficiency.

Both models are cooled by a 135mm LED DBB Silence fan with blue LED lightning with on/off switch. It is regulated by thermal manager that spins it up and down for optimal heat and noise management. It also feature CircuitShield with over- current, voltage, and power protections as well as short circuit, under voltage and over temperature protections. It uses Japanese heavy-duty Caps and feature darkened "stealth wires".

Unfortunately, Antec did not shed any light regarding the availability date or the precise price but a quick check at our favorite price search engine puts the new HCG M 850W at around €120.
