While Xbox One and its new controller will be officially out in a couple of months, Microsoft has confirm that new controller will indeed work on the PC but only in 2014, when support and drivers are expected to launch.
During an interview with Kotaku, Microsoft spokeperson noted that there is still some work that Microsoft needs to do in order to make sure that existing games that support the Xbox 360 controller will actually work with the Xbox One controller as well. According to Microsoft, despite it sounds like a simple deal, this takes a lot of work.
Microsoft noted that they are quite aware that people want to use the Xbox One controller on the PC and expect to have the functionality ready in 2014.
