Following the rest of the motherboards manufacturers, Asus has also announced the new UEFI BIOS update for motherboards based on Intel's H87 and B85 Express chipsets that will unlock the previously inaccessible overclocking features for 4th generation Intel Core Haswell K-Series CPUs.
Showing that overclocking is not reserved for enthusiasts and the high-end Intel Z87 Express chipset based motherboards, Asus has issued the new BIOS update that allows you to overclock those 4th generation K-Series CPUs even on mid-range motherboards based on the H87 and B85 Express chipsets.
According to Asus, the update is currently available for a total of ten Asus motherboards including the H87-PRO, H87-PLUS, H87M-PRO, H87M-PLUS, H87M-E, H87I-PLUS, B85-PRO, B85-PLUS, B85M-E and B85M-G.
The BIOS update practically enables the frequency multiplier-based overclocking for unlocked Intel K-series CPUs like the Intel Core i7-4770K and the Core i5-4670K. In addition to overclocking, the new update also includes a several new features.
