Asus has been quite busy at Computex 2013 and one of the announcements was about its new Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 and the MeMO Pad FHD 10 tablets. Aimed to be cheap but powerful, the new MeMO Pad tablets will certainly snatch quite a big piece of the tablet market as soon as Asus manage to get them to retail/e-tail shelves.
The Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 is a 7-inch Android tablet with a quad-core Qualcomm processor paired up with 1GB of RAM, 1280 x 800 IPS display, stereo speakers, and 1.2-megapixel front and 5-megapixel rear cameras. Asus promises 10 hours of video playback on a single charge and it will be available with 16GB of internal storage backed both by a microSD card slot and one year free 16GB of Asus WebStorage. The precise dimensions are set at 120.6x196.8x10.8mm and it weighs 302g. It will be available in black, white, pink and green colors.
The Asus MeMO Pad FHD 10 is a completely different beast with 10-inch 1920 x 1200 Full HD IPS display. It is powered by Intel's Atom Z2560 processor clocked at 1.6GHz and will feature Asus' SonicMaster audio technology. It will be available with 16 or 32GB of internal storage backed by a microSD card slot and 5GB of free lifetime Asus WebStorage. It also comes with front 1.2-megapixel and rear 5-megapixel cameras, offers same 10 hours of battery for video playback and will feature 802.11abgn WiFi, GPS with GLONASS and Miracast for WiFi video streaming, Its precise dimensions are set at 264.6x182.4x9.5mm and it weighs 580g.
The new MeMO Pad 7 tablet should be available in July with a US $129 and US $149 price tags for 8 an 16GB version while the MeMO Pad FHD 10 will be available in September with a yet to be announced price tag.
