AMD is expected to roll out its entire line of Richland based APUs that will replace the Trinity based ones while retaining the same FM2 socket. Although it is not a part of the Richland 6000-series APUs, the new A4-4000 is a dual-core part that has a rather impressive US $40 price tag.

Listed in both the US and Europe, the A4-4000 features two CPU cores and works at 3.0GHz. It support AMD's Turbo Core technology that takes the CPU part to 3.2GHz and it feature 1MB of L2 cache. The GPU part of the APU is the HD 7480 clocked at 720MHz. According to AMD slide, the new A4-4000 should end up to be significantly faster than both Celeron G1610 or the Pentium G2020 and is the only processor with discrete-level graphics in the US $40 price range.

As noted, it should go for around US $42 in the US as it is currently listed at Provantage.com shop for US $51.46 while in Europe, it is currently available at below €40. The best part of the story is that fits any FM2 socket motherboard and has a 65W TDP.
