Radeon HD 7970 GHz slide reveals GTX 770 performance

HD 7970GHz still faster according to AMD

It is still no clear on how AMD got the results and it is possible that they were only looking at GTX 770 specifications but in any case, AMD claims that Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition will be on par with the new GTX 770 and even outperform it in Crysis 3, Tomb Raider and Dirt Showdown titles. The GTX 770 wins only in Skyrim.

In case you missed the earlier post, the GTX 770 is pretty much the same as the GTX 680 since it features 1536 CUDA cores and 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with the same 256-bit memory interface. On the other hand, the GTX 770 will feature impressive 1059MHz base and 1125 Boost GPU clocks while those 2GB of GDDR5 memory will end up clocked at 7GHz.

AMD also might be working on a new gaming bundle in order to counteract the GTX 770 launch as the slide in question was taken from some sort of AMD marketing material. More info regarding AMD move will be available this week but they still have to worry about the GTX 780.
