Arctic unveiled a giant passive heatsink for low-powered AM4 processors like Ryzen GE processors and Bristol Ridge APU lineup. The upcoming Alpine AM4 passive heatsink is a silent cooler that can dissipate up to 47W of heat in a tower case with good airflow. Since the cooler is meant for processors with 35W TDP, you shouldn't push the cooler to that limit.

The Alpine AM4 passive heatsink features a black anodized surface and a large aluminum fins that should remove heat from the processor. According to Arctic, the coating creates imperfections in the surface which increases heat exchange between the aluminum and the air. The cooler comes with pre-applied MX-2 thermal compound in order to make the installation as easy as possible.

Arctic says that the Alpine AM4 can keep an AMD APU A12 9800E under full load below 60 degress celsius. Just for comparison reason, with the stock AMD cooler you will hit a temperature of 40 degrees celsius. At the moment it isn't clear how Arctic tested the CPUs, however we believe that is a good result. So far Arctic has not revealed details on pricing and availability on their Alpine AM4 CPU cooler. The heatsink is currently listed on the website for $999 USD but we believe that is a mistake.
