NVIDIA and Princeton University developed a new exploit

SpectrePrime and MeltdownPrime

Right after the Meltdown and Spectre revelations, security researchers across the world have been working in order to find out how the exploits can be used and fixed. A few days ago, the experts from NVIDIA and Princeton University managed to develop some exploits known as SpectrePrime and MeltdownPrime.


MeltdownPrime can be used against any real-world hardware. SpectrePrime can be used, for example, for extract data from a MacBook equipped with an Intel Core-i7 processor. The exploit takes data from applications that are using cache memory. The code of this two exploits hasn't been obviously revealed. This kind of researches are quite important for the industry because in this way software or hardware providers can fix the bug.

While some exploits have been patched already, other one need to be addressed yet. We suggest to keep your system always updated and with the last patch installed.
