ASRock has revealed the full specifications of its X399M Taichi motherboard. A few weeks ago during CES 2018, ASRock has unveiled their first micro-ATX AMD X399 motherboard. With the X399M Taichi, ASRock offers a motherboard with a solid power design and several features.


Today we're having a look at the ASRock X399M Taichi motherboard, which packs the new socket TR4, four DDR4 DIMM slots and several new features. The motherboard is based on an mATX form factor featuring RGB backlight underneath each heat sink and there are steel reinforcements on the PCIe slots. In general the layout is similar to the other high-end motherboards and therefore there are three full-sized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.

On the storage side, the X399M Taichi features a single U.2 port, three M.2 slots and eight angled SATA ports. The first M.2 slot is placed in the middle of the motherboard, the second and the third one are placed close the 24-pin connector. Unlike many other manufacturers, ASRock isn't offering any M.2 heat sinks. The PCB comes with 8-layer with four sets of two ounce copper inner layers.

Looking at the external connectors placed directly at the I/O-panel, ASRock equipped the X399M Taichi motherboard with one PS/2 port, eight USB 3.0 ports and two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports. Furthermore there are two Intel GbE LAN ports and the analogue audio panel with optical out as well as a WiFi module (2.4G / 5G) with two connectors for antennas.

This motherboard has been announced several times however it isn't available yet. A few weeks ago, our friend Stuart Tonks from GGF Lan Party has posted a picture of this motherboard. It looks like that the X399M Taichi is already hitting the modders network and we hope to see this motherboard listed on Geizhals soon as well.
