It's not a secret that Intel is expanding its 8th generation Core "Coffee Lake" desktop processor lineup during Q1 2018. Furthermore the company will release more motherboard chipsets like B360 Express and H310 Express. One of these upcmoning CPUs is the Core i5-8500 six-core processor, positioned right above the current Core i5-8400.
According to the SiSoft Sandra database the new chip from Intel clocks with 3.00GHz base and it might hit 4.3GHz as boost clock. Apart from that there are 9MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 65W. The results unveil the chips performance in the Multi-Media routine. If we compare these results the upcoming Core i5-8500 is slightly slower than a Core i7-5820K, which is also a hexa-core part.
At the moment there isn't more information. Price wise, the upcoming Core i5-8500 should be around $200-mark. The Core i5-8400 launched at $189 however retailers are pushing it for 10% margins above MSRP. We expect a similar situation for the Core i5-8500 processor.
