A while back PowerColor released Devil Box, the first external GPU case compatible with any graphics card around. With the Gaming Station, PowerColor offers another enclosure with a different design. Compared to the Devil Box we don't see the edgy styling anymore. Like the previous model, the upcoming Gaming Station is compatible with several graphics cards.


The Gaming Station supports Intel Thunderbolt 3 as well as USB Type-C, which means you can connect it to any recent notebook or mini-PC in order to boost its 3D performance. PowerColor isn't the first one to come up with an external case for graphics cards. A few months back Razer announced their so called Razer Core enclosure, offering the same functionality.

According to the product page PowerColor's Gaming Station is compatible with AMD Radeon RX 400 series and RX 500 series as well as with Nvidia GeForce GTX 10 series graphics cards. The only limitations there are is set to the size of the graphics card since the space available make it only compatible with 2-slot GPU with a max length of 310 millimeters. Inside the unit there is a 550W power supply that is suitable for any up-to-date graphics card.

The rear part of the box also comes with a set of useful connectors. There are three USB 3.0, one Thunderbolt 3 and one Ethernet 10/100/1000 port. The PowerColor Gaming Station is to cost $300 MSRP and should become available during this month.
