Over the past weeks we have heard several reports regarding the lack of custom RX Vega 64 graphics cards. According to an anonymous AIB rep, there won't be any custom graphics cards because there is simply no stock until mid-October. Following a report over at Tom's Hardware, it looks like Gigabyte won't even release a custom RX Vega 64 card.


Due to inconsistencies related to the quality of chips, AIB partners are having issues in establishing a standard GPU frequency for their factory-overclocked cards. In addition there are problems with the temperature, since there is a huge delta between the real temperature and the one reported from the GPU. This issue can become a big problem for stability in the long run.

According to recent reports, both Gigabyte and MSI will not release any custom graphics cards based on AMD's Vega GPU, instead they'll be focusing on the upcoming GTX 1070 Ti from NVIDIA. Although NVIDIA hasn't announced the card yet, the manufacturers are already working on this upcoming model. So far technical details and performance numbers are still not available but we should see an announcement from NVIDIA in October.

So far it looks like only ASUS is going to release a RX Vega 64 STRIX Edition but at the moment there aren't any details regarding pricing and availability. Although the card has already landed on several reviewer's desks, it isn't available in any shop.
