If you are looking for a big tower case which is compatible with high-end graphics cards, E-ATX motherboard as well as extensive watercooling setup, Lian Li's PC-V3000 enclosure might be just what you've been looking for. The company has released a new jumbo-size case which is compatible with any kind of hardware as well as extensive custom water cooling setups. Compared to the PC-V2000 which was launched back in 2004, the PC-V3000 is basically a completely new case.
Unlike other full-tower cases, the new PC-V3000 is rather slim yet pretty tall. It measures (W)245mm x(H)625mm x(D)605mm and it’s compatible with E-ATX motherboards. This case combines sleek tempered glass panels with a strong steel and aluminum body. Having a look at the cooling side of this case, there is enough space for a big radiators in the front (420mm), one more in the top (360mm) and another on in the bottom area (480mm). Due to the design of this full-tower case, there is space for large air coolers, which can measure up to 170mm in height although it would generally make much more sense to combine this case with custom water cooling gear.
Regarding other features there is space for an ATX power supply, which can measure up to 300 in length, up to nine 3.5" and ten 2.5" drives can be installed and graphics cards can measure up to 360mm in length. The front panel comes with a power button, two USB 3.0, one USB 3.1 Type-C and two audio jacks for your headphone and microphone. Furthermore there is also a HDMI outlet to connect VR devices.
You might have noticed us mentioning that the chassis frame is made from steel. Lian Li used to make all their high-end cases entirely from aluminum. In the case of their latest additions to the line-up such as the PC-O11 for instance as well as this PC-V3000 the chassis’ frame is now made from steel. Lian Li says it chose an internal structure from steel because of the material’s strength, durability, and acoustic properties (no more rattling of the side panels). The external panels are made from brushed aluminum or tempered glass. By testing and building a system using a PC-O11 we can actually confirm that the rattling/vibration issues are now finally gone. On top of that a metal frame will also bring the advantage that these cases can be priced more competitively.
According to Lian Li the PC-V3000 should become available in September and the company mentioned a price tag of $450 US.
