AMD’s RX Vega GPU has been spotted in the Futuremark database, showcasing performance that is similar to NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080, which would mean that the upcoming AMD flagship graphics card won’t be capable of competing with NVIDIA’s absolute high-end models. These days editors and reviewers have received their first RX Vega 64 samples including final drivers.




The result shows that the cards has been tested on the entire 3DMark suite. At the moment there are several scores in the 3DMark database with different clock speeds. The frequencies, which are visible in the different 3DMark results are peak clocks and the card might be overclocked. However, according to what we know so far, the RX Vega 64 should sport a GPU frequency of 1630MHz and a memory clock of 945MHz.

On TimeSpy, the upcoming AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 scores about 7'600 points in the graphics score. In other words it's on the same level as a custom GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. In addition, the RX Vega 64 has been tested running Fire Strike Performance, Extreme and Ultra. In all these three benchmarks the upcoming Vega 64 is able to outperform the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 but it's still pretty far away from the flagship GTX 1080 Ti.
