ADATA unveils ISSS314 series SSDs

With 3D MLC and 3D TLC NAND flash memory

ADATA has shown their ISSS314 series of SSDs which all use 3D NAND flash memory to offer better performance compared to SSDs using planar NAND. ISSS314 drives are available with 3D MLC and 3D TLC NAND flash memory chips allowing ADATA to competitively price their 2.5 inch drives.

These units come with a SATA-III interface so the performance is not going to be a surprise. As expected the ISSS314 SSDs are able to max out the SATA-III interface, hitting up to 560MB/s sequential read and 520MB/s for sequential writes. According to ADATA the MTBF (mean time between failure) for all drives is rated at 2 million hours. As expected these drives support S.M.A.R.T., TRIM and NCQ. All models can withstand a wide temperature range, extreme shocks, vibrations, as well as humidity to meet the needs of industrial customers as well.

The ISSS34 MLC SSDs are available with five capacities ranging from 32GB to 512GB, while the TLC drives are available in three sizes from 128GB to 512GB. The spec sheet however is lacking the 4K IOPS performance, the manufacturer of the controller as well as NAND chip vendor, and the warranty.

So far ADATA has not revealed any details on pricing and availability but we’re sure it won’t take very long until those drives are going to be listed on the usual price comparison portals.
