AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs to be bundled with AiO coolers

New retention kit needed as well

It looks like AMD and Intel are competing head to head with high-end desktop platforms lately. According to Hermitage Akihabara, AMD will launch Threadripper August 10th in Japan and it will be released with an AIO liquid cooler in the bundle.

With their socket TR4 Ryzen Threadripper chip, AMD could potentially have a very well performing CPU with an excellent performance/price ratio in their portfolio. During the past few days rumors have been surfacing showing promising performance numbers.

Since Ryzen Threadripper requires another a new socket, there is also need for new retention kits, meaning cooler vendors are most likely going to add kits to their lineup. Apart from that it seems that AMD is going to bundle their Ryzen Threadripper chips with all-in-one water coolers, which means people won’t have to worry about getting retention kits. Apart from that this could make perfect sense sind Ryzen Threadripper is most likely going to burn through quite some energy and therefore produce a lot of heat.

According to the latest rumors, the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X is supposed to set you back $999 US while the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X chips are supposed to cost $799 US. If AMD is going to add a free cooler to the bundle, this is definitely going to increase the value of the whole package, especially considering that in the case of Skylake-X you have to buy the cooler separate in any case.
