Corsair releases Neutron NX500 SSD

The first PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD from Corsair

NVMe capable SSDs are growing increasingly popular these days, offering much higher transfer speeds than your usual SATA drives. New markets always offer new opportunities and that on the other hand means that different vendors will launch new products. The Neutron NX500 is the first PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD from Corsair.

The Corsair NX500 SSD is available with 400GB and 800GB capacity. This SSD is based on 3D TLC NAND flash memory, which allows for higher capacities than traditional 2D/Planar NAND flash memory. Like most NVMe SSDs out today, the Corsair NX500 SSD makes use of the M.2 2280 form factor and a PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 interface. Regarding performance, these are definitely no slow drives topping out sequential read performance of up to 3'000MB/s and 2'400MB/s for sequential writing. In the case of random performance it’s supposed to reach 300,000 IOPS for read and up to 270,000 IOPS for 4k writes.

The price of these units is set to 348.89 Euro for the 400GB and 754.85 Euro for the 800GB unit. All the drivers are covered by a 3 year warranty plan.
