It appears that displays with very high refresh rates and FullHD resolution are trendy these days, since they’re an actual improvement to fps gamers. Acer has yet another such display in its portfolio, which goes by the name Predator XB2 and offers 240Hz refresh rate.
Diving a little bit deeper into the details there Acer has two different 240Hz models in its portfolio. There is the 24.5-inch Predator XB25Q and the 27-inch Predator XB272 with an MSRP of 599 Euro and 699 Euro, respectively. Both these displays should have been available since April already but apparently there was some delay.
Both displays share the same TN-LC-panel with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The response time is 1ms (most likely grey-to-grey), NVIDIA G-Sync is supported and there is also a ULMB mode available. Apart from that it’s great to see that Acer is making use of a solid stand, which allows for tilt, pivot and swivel. There is even an integrated USB 3.0 hub as well as several different modes for gamers. On the connector side there is a DisplayPort as well as a HDMI port.
Checking Geizhals we find the Predator XB25Q available for 569 Euro, while the XB272 is currently going to set you back 627.29 Euro. For what they are both these displays are definitely not cheap.
