New speculation on AMD Threadripper 16-core price

Rumors from Bitsnchips

Bits'n'chips shared some new speculation about the the pricing of upcoming AMD Threadripper processors via their Twitter page. According to them, AMD will release Threadripper during this summer and the chips could be in a kind of reasonable price range.

Although these are speculations, we might see AMD Threadripper 16-core CPUs during next months. It looks like AMD will structure their CPU launch similar to Intel, first releasing the high-end models and bring the mid-range chips to the market at a later stage. According to the rumors, the price of the 16-core Threadripper 1998 has been revealed. The new 16-core chip might become available for $849 US. Unfortunately there is no information about possible pricing of all the other Threadripper chips that are to come, but apparently we can expect the faster models to be more expensive.

When it comes to the X399 motherboards, it’s most likely that that they’re not going to be bargains. Due to the monstrous TR4 socket and the beefy design that we have seen on several motherboards already it’s safe to assume that those boards will cost quite some money. Threadripper on X399 was never supposed to be a cheap combination, it should be powerful offering state of the art performance and connectivity. Overall the simple fact that high-end comes at a price should be perfectly understandable.
