Cooler Master has announced a new model in their COSMOS series celebrating 25th anniversary of the company. The new case is called the COSMOS II 25th anniversary edition and comes with brushed aluminium panels and several modern features like tempered glass side panels.
The COSMOS II 25th anniversary edition measures 344 x 704 x 664mm with a net weight of 23Kg and classifies as a full-tower. The exterior design is very sleek and elegant. The main chassis is made from aluminum and ABS. The top and the front faceplate share a simple design, while both sides feature smoked tempered glass panels.
On the inside there is space for XL-ATX, E-ATX and ATX motherboards. Cooling wise there is space for one 280mm radiator which can be installed in the top. There is enough space for high-end air coolers coolers as well, allowing the installation of models that measure up to 190mm in height. To optimize the airflow the front cover can be pushed up allowing fans to pull in fresh air from the front mesh.
The internal layout is overall simple and straightforward. You can install up to 13 HDDs or 11 SSDs. There are also three 5.25" slots to install additional HDDs or ODDs.
The main difference between this model and the old one are basically the two curved tempered glass side panels. These crafted panels swing open like doors of a luxury car. Since fans all over the world have been asking for a COSMOS II with windowed side panels, Cooler Master will sell these panels as a separate retail product during the Q3 2017.
The COSMOS II 25th anniversary edition should already be available and it's listed on Geizhals for 349,00 Euro. At this price it’s not really a bargain.
