NVIDIA GP108 GPU chip pictured

On the GT 1030

EX Preview has taken a few pictures of NVIDIA's upcoming GP-108 GPU chip. According to the latest rumors, this chip should power the GT 1030 and requires only 30W, making it ideal for low-power multi-monitor PCs and OEM systems.

According to the latest rumors, NVIDIA will release a low end, budget oriented graphics card which should go by the name GeForce GTX 1030 (GP108). However since it should be a budget friendly graphics card, it will not use the prefix "GTX" but following NVIDIA’s naming scheme we expect to see a GT 1030. This card will fight against the recently release RX 550, which is designed as an iGPU replacement with an attractive price point.

Apparently the GP-108 is based on the new Pascal architecture and might be a good upgrade if you’re on a very tight budget. So far it’s still unclear if NVIDIA will use the GP107 GPU from the GTX 1050 card or the yet unreleased GP108 core. Furthermore the GT 1030 will have also come with a big brother, which would be the GT 1040.

At the moment there are no further details about the NVIDIA GP108 GPU. According to EX Preview NVIDIA will release it the next May 17th.
