According to the latest rumors, Samsung is working on a new curved monitor which features a huge 49-inch panel with 3840 x 1080 (Double FullHD) resolution as well as a 1800R curvature. Furthermore the monitor comes with support for AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync which allows for a variable refresh rate that ranges between 60 and 144Hz. Unfortunately there is no VESA mount.
As we already mentioned the new monitor has been equipped with a 49-inch panel supporting 3840 x 1080 pixels (Double FullHD) and it features a 1800R curvature. The panel is basically the equivalent of two 27-inch 1080p displays built together into a single panel. The display uses a VA panel which means good viewing angles and contrast ratios. Samsung is marketing this display as a gaming monitor and for that purpose they’ve integrated AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync support.
Since several games still have issue supporting 21:9 aspect ratio, we don't know what what challenges a 32:9 aspect ratio is going to present. If you like surround gaming and you don't want buy two displays, then this monitor could be quite interesting for you.
Furthermore Samsung also has plans to release a similar 3840 x 1200 panel, which will features a 29:9 aspect ratio. This will be a 44-inch monitor, with an 1800R curvature and VA panel. So far Samsung has not revealed any additional information on these two models. According to Pcgamer, the production should start in September 2017 and we will not see any of these new displays before 2018.
