LG has expanded its UHD monitor lineup with a new monitor which features a 43-inch panel 3840 x 2160 resolution. Furthermore the monitor comes with a KVM switch and USB Type-C port. The LG 43UD79-B is not the first 43-inch UHD monitor available in the market, also Phillips and Dell made something similar months ago.
As we already mentioned the 43UD79-B monitor has been equipped with a 43-inch panel and 3840 x 2160 Pixel resolution. There are four HDMI 2.0 connectors and one DisplayPort 1.2 port. In addition the video and audio signal can be delivered also with the USB 3.1 Type-C port. The display is based on an IPS panel with 1000:1 contrast ratio and 350 cd/m2 brightness. LG is marketing this display as a multimedia monitor and for that purpose they’ve integrated Harman Kardon speakers. This screen comes with KVM switch feature, mouse and keyboard can be connected via two USB 3.0 ports.
Although the response time is quite slow like all the IPS displays, LG uses the so-called DAS Mode (Dynamic Action Sync), which should reduce the input lag. Speaking about the ergonomics the display can be adjusted in the inclination. The height adjustment as well as the horizontal or vertical swiveling are not possible with the included stand.
Checking out the pictures, this is definitely a good looking monitor, which is thanks to the slim bezel. Checking for prices the 43UD79-B from LG can be found on Geizhals for 780 Euro. It is more expensive than the 43-inch models from Acer and Philips, but cheaper than the Dell one.
