NVIDIA releases GeForce 378.78 Game Ready drivers

More game optimisations

Following the launch of the GTX 1080 Ti NVIDIA releases a new driver supporting the new graphics card. Furthermore the GeForce 378.78 WHQL driver adds some DirectX 12 optimisations for Tom Clancy's The Division. To create this driver NVIDIA has been working with the developers of a wide range of DirectX 12 titles, according to NVIDIA, gamers should receive higher performance using the new API.

NVIDIA has been working with a wide range of developers who are using the DirectX 12 API for their games, such as guys behind The Ashes of the Singularity, Gears of War 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Tom Clancy's The Division. This way they wanted to improve the DirectX 12 performance of their drivers. According to NVIDIA the 378.78 drivers help increasing frames per second by 10 to 16% compared to the old drivers.

However we would have expected NVIDIA to address some of the issues gamers are having with Battlefield 1 lately. In their official community forums there is a thread on Battlefield 1, which has grown to over 540 pages within the past few months. Users are still mentioning continuous crashes on GTX 700 series cards in particular on the GTX 770. So far they’re left with a DirectX error and it looks like NVIDIA hasn’t addressed the issues yet.
