A few days ago Biostar has unveiled several new AMD AM4 300-series motherboards. Now the company is proud to introduce even more B350 motherboards. Biostar is one of the first to show an almost full AM4 lineup and we hope to see more models from other companies soon as well.
The B350-series includes two models: the Biostar B350GT3 and the Biostar B350ET2. Already a few weeks ago, during the AMD Webinar Event, AMD presented two board from Biostar, which went by the name B350 GTN and Biostar B350 GT5. As we already mentioned a few times, the X370 chipset is the current flagship, which is followed by the B350 mid-range model and then the A320 entry-level part. As a result of that the B350 chipset still allows for overclocking while the A320 doesn’t. All the new chipsets feature native M.2 NVMe support, SATA Express, PCIe 3.0, DDR4 memory and USB 3.1 ports. AMD’s B350 chipset is going to be the one offering an attractive price/performance ratio. It supports less PCIe lanes compared to X370 but it still allows for overclocking your AM4 CPUs.
The B350GT3 is a mid-range model and based on a micro-ATX form factor with the usual four DIMM slots. There is a black PCB, which has been combined with black heat sinks with white elements. There are two PCIe Gen 3.0 slots and two PCIe x1. Between the first and the second full-sized PCIe slot there are two slots distance providing plenty of space for graphics cards to breathe even if you decide to run a multi GPU setup. On the storage side we see one M.2 slot and four SATA-III ports. Since this is going to be a mid-range motherbard, there aren't features like onboard buttons or a debug display.
The B350ET2 is a more budget-oriented motherboard. Like the previous model we find a micro-ATX form factor and only two DIMM slots. There is a black PCB without and there are heatsinks at all. Furthermore we see one PCIe Gen 3.0 slot and two PCIe x1 slots. On the storage side there is no M.2 slot but there are four straight SATA ports. This board feature a 1.5V USB charger which is suitable for iCafe owners who want to use LED-equipped gaming headphones from the USB. So far Biostar has not revealed details on pricing and availability on this two new motherboards but we are sure we will know more during next weeks.
