Chrome 56 released

Support for FLAC

Google has released yet another update on Chrome. Meanwhile the popular browser is available in version 56, or to be even more precise, version 56.0.2924.76 for Windows, Linux and macOS.

Amongst other things Chrome 56 now supports the playback of lossless FLAC encoded audio files from within the browser. Apart from that the 3D interface WebGL 2 is now supported. Maybe the most critical point they’ve changed is an added warning from insecure HTTP websites, which ask for passwords or credit card information from you.
