According to earlier information, it appears that Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti will be launching at CES 2017 show in January and will be based on Nvidia's GP102 Pascal GPU, which should provide performance similar to the Titan X but at a much lower price.

Following plenty of leaks coming from China, the new Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti will be based on a high-end GP102 GPU, featuring 3328 CUDA cores, 1.6GHz GPU Boost clock, pack 12GB of GDDR5X memory and have a 250W TDP, all for an impressive peak compute performance of 10.8 TFLOPs.

This means that the GP102 GPU will have 52 enabled SMs, out of total 60 SMs on the GP102 GPU, and since Nvidia AIC partners will be able to come up with their own design, we expect to see some heavily overclocked versions which should easily match or even outperform the Titan X Pascal graphics card.

AMD is also expected to unveil its new Vega GPU based high-end graphics cards sometime next year, precisely in the first half of 2017, but it appears that Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti will offer a decent competition and have an advantage of coming to the market earlier.

Hopefully, we will hear more about Nvidia's GP102-based GTX 1080 Ti as well as AMD's Vega-based high-end lineup as we draw closer to the end of the year.
