AMD has teamed up with Firaxis for Civilization VI game which will result in support for DirectX 12, explicit Multi-GPU and Async Compute support.
According to AMD and in addition to implementation of DirectX 12, explicit multi-GPU and Asynchronous Compute, the newest Civilazation VI game will also have a built-in benchmark so it will probably end up as one of the favorite games to test all those new graphics cards.
Coming on October 21st, Civilization VI will continue a history of collaboration between AMD, 2K Games and Firaxis Games, which resulted in support for DirectX 11 in Civilization V, co-development of Mantle and integration of it in Civilization Beyond Earth as well as the development of the first modern split-frame rendering (SFR) multi-GPU implementation in Civilization Beyond Earth.
AMD has promised that it will reveal more details before the official release of the game and we are certainly looking forward to see how big the advantage of all those features will be and how well does all cards compare in it.
