Samsung sold more than million curved monitors

Covers more than 85 percent of the market

Samsung has announced that it managed to sell more than one million curved monitors since it launched its first curved monitor, the SD590C, back in September 2014.

The curved monitor market has become rather big and according to the latest report from IDC, Samsung is currently holding over 85 percent of the worldwide curved monitor market.

According to plenty of curved monitor makers, these monitors "match the natural shape of the human eye and create a more comfortable and immersive viewing experience conducive to long-term use."

Seog-gi Kim, SVP of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics noted that "since the launch of our first curved monitor in 2014, we've seen this technology evolve to become an industry standard that gaming and entertainment viewers expect."

Samsung has recently released a couple of new curved monitors with a 1800R curve radius and support for AMD FreeSync, the the 27-inch CF591 and the 23.5-inch and 27-inch CF390, which should let it tap more into gaming monitor market.
