Intel's earlier unveiled Skull Canyon NUC has appeared on pre-order in both US and Europe, selling at its suggested retail price of US $649.99.
Branded as the Intel NUC6i7KYK model, the Skull Canyon NUC barebone features a quad-core Core i7-6770HQ Skylake CPU, with 8 logical CPUs, 6MB of L3 cache, 128MB of L4 cache and 2.6GHz base and 3.5GHz maximum Turbo clocks. The CPU also comes with Intel Iris Pro Graphics 580 IGP, which packs 72 Execution Units (EUs). The IGP is clocked at up to 950MHz.
Since this is a barebone version, you will still need both DDR4 SO-DIMM memory and M.2 SSD storage in order to get a working system.
While it might not push all the latest games at maximum settings, it will provide enough power for a great HTPC and some casual gaming.
