It appears that EA's Mass Effect Andromeda won't be coming this year as many hoped, as EA has officially confirmed that it has been delayed to the Q1 of 2017.
During a presentation at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen explained the roadmap for upcoming games, saying that the Battlefield FPS game is coming in the third quarter, Mirror's Edge that should come in the first quarter (delayed from February to late May), new Titanfall game also coming in the third quarter and Mass Effect, which is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
Unfortunately, Jorgensen was talking about EA's fiscal quarters, with fiscal year starting in mid-December and ends in March of next year. According to this, Mass Effect Andromeda could come anywhere between January 1 and March 31 2017, which is EA's fourth quarter.
Earlier details already suggested that Mass Effect Andromeda will be delayed due to the departure of some key people and EA has already confirmed that the game will be released "before April 2017," which lines up with the new information.
Hopefully, EA will show a bit more about Mass Effect Andromeda at E3 2016 show, which kicks off on June 14th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
