Hex Gear is a less known company that makes cases but its micro ATX R40 PC case certainly drew a lot of attention and now they have created their first ATX PC case, the full tower R80.
Hex Gear was founded by Hans Peder Sahl and Nate George, both active members of the modding community, in the spring of 2014 and wanted to create a PC case is built as a tank but have a clean design, small footprint as well as plenty of liquid cooling options and high-end features, which resulted with the micro ATX R40 case.
Today, the company has announced its new case that follows the same design philosophy but has a standard full tower design, adding more room for high-end components and bigger liquid cooling systems.
The new R80 PC case will be available in black and white color options made from aluminum, steel and acrylic materials. It has 241.5 x 598 x 535 mm dimensions and weighs 18kg. What makes the R80 special is attention to details as well as its focus on modders as the company supplies a blank aluminum mounting bracket that can be customized for pumps, reservoirs, fan controllers and comes with three different pane kits, including panel kit for two 420mm radiators and two stealth kit for six 140mm or seven 120mm fans.
The R80 is also big enaough to fit a quad GPU setup and has plenty of additional space for radiator or fan mounting.
Such high-end components and features also come at a price, so both the white and the black version of the Hex Gear R80 PC case will be priced at £299.99, which converts to around €400 or US $440.
