AMD has now officially launched a website for GPUOpen, an initiative announced earlier created to assist developers with open source tools, effects and more.
According to AMD, the goal of the GPUOpen is to provide and lead to a more efficient game development by putting all the tools and technologies on the same place where they are downloadable from GitHub and can be shared among developers.
In case you missed it back when it was announced, the GPUOpen is pretty much AMD's answer to Nvidia's Gameworks, but on an open-source level.
The site currently includes a couple of featured technologies, including HIP, the Heterogeneous-compute Interface for Portability, which is a set of C++ libraries for parallel computation and which includes a tool that converts the code from CUDA to standard C++ by using HIP library which can then be compiled with AMD's Heterogeneous Compute Compiler (HCC) for AMD GPUs, a regular C++ compiler for the CPU or even with Nvidia's compiler for Nvidia GPUs. It also comes with AMD's LiquidVR, AMD's TressFX and more.
The site also includes a set of blog posts meant for developers and should get plenty of other stuff in future.
