[fr]After one of Google's engineers went on a crusade to find all USB Type-C cables that do not meet the proper specifications, OnePlus has issued a statement warning users about their own USB Type-C cable that was also shipped with the OnePlus Two smartphone.
According to OnePlus, since that same USB Type-C cable does not meet the Type-C standard specifications, it could damage chargers and USB ports on other devices. In order to make things right, OnePlus is offering a refund for those customers that bought the USB Type-C cable in order to use it with other devices. The offer will be available by the end of the year.
Unfortunately, the company will not replace those USB Type-C cables that were bundled with the OnePlus Two smartphone.
While that same OnePlus USB Type-C cable works with OnePlus Two smartphone, it does not have the compliant 56k? resistor and OnePlus is already working on a new cable which should be available soon.
