Arctic announces Freezer i32 and A32 CPU coolers

Semi-passive CPU coolers

Arctic has announced two new semi-passive CPU coolers, the Freezer i32 and Freezer A32. These two new coolers are actually Arctic's first semi-passive CPU coolers which means that the fan only starts at certain higher temperature.

While we have seen a similar solution on graphics cards, this is actually the first time we see such thing on a CPU cooler. Thanks to a new fan controller, Arctic manages to keep the cooler completely silent under idle and low load operation and only start the fan when the CPU reaches certain temperature.

As you could have guessed from the name, the Freezer i32 is designed for use with Intel socket LGA 2011(-3), 1150, 1151, 1155 and LGA 1156 CPUs while the Freezer A32 fits on AMD's FM2(+), FM1, AM3(+) and AM2 socket. Both coolers have maximum cooling capacity of 320W and can be used with CPUs with maximum 150W TDP.

Both coolers also come with a 120mm Arctic F12 fan which spins between 0 and 1350RPM. The dimensions of both the Freezer i32 and the Freezer A32 are set at 123x150x95mm, which should allow them to fit in most PC cases.

Arctic also has a special Freezer i32 CO (continuous operation) version of the cooler which should appeal to those that prefer to run their computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Both the Arctic Freezer i32 and the Freezer A32 are on sale at Amazon.com with a price set at US $49.99.
