Xbox One to get a massive GPU performance boost

With the new DirectX 12 update

According to a report from BGR.com and an interview of Stardock's CEO and founder over at Neowin, Microsoft's Xbox One next-gen console will be receiving a new update which should boost the GPU performance by up to 100 percent, possibly pushing the Xbox One closer or even over the Playstation 4 performance.

The news come from Stardock's founder and CEO, Brad Wardell, interview with Neowin, where he said that the DirectX 12 will be the driving force behind it and bring multi-core processing to the Xbox One as well as provide Full HD games instead of the lower resolution which developers and gamers currently have.

“The results are spectacular. Not just in theory but in practice (full disclosure: I am involved with the Star Swarm demo which makes use of this kind of technology,) Wardell wrote. “While each generation of video card struggles to gain substantial performance over the previous generation, here, the same hardware will suddenly see a doubling of performance.”

According to him, the GPU will receive a massive boost with double the performance it currently has. Unfortunately, there are still no details regarding the date of the new DirectX 12 update for Xbox One but this will definitely be a welcomed news for Xbox One owners.
